Dear Friends
This is my very first blog on Passing PMP in such a manner that one not only get the PMP certification but also uses this knowledge practically.
I would like to begin this blog with a very factual discussion about the dangers of becoming a PMP just for the sake of obtaining the certification.
As a qualified PMP myself I would say one thing that there is nothing in PMBOK guide that cannot be applied practically. If there is anyone who thinks otherwise I would like to meet up and convince him/ her otherwise with any kind of practical and applied example from any industry anyone could ask for.
With this in mind its most important that PMP Is not JUST a Certification that one should take up for getting a better JOB. Sorry if thats your whole idea...you are already doomed. If you have this concept than this would also reflect in source you would choose in taking training from. This would also mean that you would squeez where it matters most...viz the quality and cost of training. I have many cases where people who have not become PMP but using concepts in their personal life as well as professional life and are rising in thier life and handling work much more practically and confidently.
It pains me so much that I have come across so many PMP certified professionals who do not fit the bill. In fact when someone is a PMP the expectations from him/her goes even higher and when that person is just a paper PMP ...this qualification actually starts working against them.
Do not just read and pass.....there is much more to PMP than meets the eye. PMP should be a way of life and you will be shocked where all it takes you and how much you can accomplish.
Please DO NOT be let down by a "Nay-Sayers" who keep promising that in "Real World" the Project Management Practices never apply. Please remember that the people who say this do not want to change their version of "Real World". Project Management practices are taken from Succesful "Real World" projects and if you do not follow them practically well you get your own "Real World" and probably not successful either.
